Colette trained in London and spent the first part of her career with Saffery Champness. After a spell in the City, she returned to the West Country. She is a qualified Chartered Accountant who has enjoyed working for KPMG as well as Somerset based firms before setting up her own business.
Colette has extensive tax and accounts experience in all areas but specifically managing the tax affairs of our private clients, including Trusts and residency matters. She has an in-depth knowledge of the accountancy issues concerning small businesses.
Colette loves the freedom of working in a small dedicated team giving top quality service to her clients.
Originally from Somerset, Jacqui trained with a Devon Practice where she held the position of senior manager for 9 years. Since joining Phillips Dinnes in 2016 she has assisted Colette with managing the practice.
She has acquired a strong practical background in all areas of accounts and taxation for both corporate and individual clients. Jacqui enjoys working closely with corporate clients giving focused business and tax planning advice throughout all stages of a company lifecycle.
Jacqui’s experience includes advising on minimising personal tax and she offers capital gains and inheritance tax planning advice.
Suzanne trained with and worked for a leading local accountancy practice for many years before joining Phillips Dinnes in 2005. She has extensive experience in all areas of accounts and proactively manages a diverse portfolio of corporate clients, dealing with all their accounting and taxation affairs.
She also provides advice on tax compliance, tax planning and company secretarial matters as required, and prides herself on offering our clients all round support.
Heather trained in Edinburgh before qualifying as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 2001. She worked in a solicitors’ practice in Scotland and Chartered Accountants practices on both sides of the border building an extensive knowledge of personal tax, trusts and inheritance tax. Heather moved south to Dorset in 2004 where she has enjoyed working for two notable Chartered Accountancy firms before joining us.
Working closely with the other members of the team Heather brings her experience and technical expertise to ensure we provide the best advice to our clients.
Neil is from a local farming family and has returned to his roots after studying at University College London. Neil started his accountancy career with a larger firm in Taunton and then progressed to work with our consultant Patricia Todd. He is now a valued contributor to Phillips Dinnes, besides his quiet charm we benefit from his wealth of accounting know how and report writing skills.
There are not many accounting systems or types of business that have not crossed his path.
Maria trained with and worked for a leading accountancy practice in Dorset for many years before joining Phillips Dinnes in 2018. She has extensive tax experience specifically managing the tax affairs of private clients, dealing with trust tax and residency matters.
Maria is a Taxation Technician, ATT(Fellow), and an associate of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners which well equips her to advise our clients on Inheritance tax and Estate planning.
Eileen qualified as a Chartered Accountant with a small practice in Taunton in 1994. A year later, she joined a leading local practice as an accounts manager and this is where she first met Colette and Suzanne. In 2000, Eileen moved to London and was an audit manager in a top 20 accountancy practice for 7 years before moving her family back to the West Country. Since then she has worked part-time for various small companies in the capacity of Financial Controller.
We were delighted that Eileen joined the team in January and we are sure that her broad range of experience will be an asset to our company.
Linda has been with Phillips Dinnes for 7 years and is considered the linchpin of the office, she is in control of all the administration processes within the organisation. Linda originally trained as a secretary and has since become multi-skilled and offers support throughout the practice.
Patricia has had an international career, whilst abroad Patricia specialised in the tax affairs of High Net Worth individuals for both British and overseas nationals which continues to be a specialism of Phillips Dinnes today.
Patricia has now retired from day to day office working and is enjoying her many interests and enthusiasms. We are extremely fortunate that Patricia continues to be available as a consultant to assist with complex assignments.
